Stained Glass Knight (May, Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland) 02/05-04/05/2025
Stained Glass Knight is a free-standing sculptural assemblage that combines two merchandise items from George Lucas’s ‘Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace’ (1999). Both objects depict the same fictional character from the film — the Gungan outcast, Jar Jar Binks. The assemblage sees the character doubled as an ultra-rare giant plush that sits posed atop an inflatable piece of furniture also bearing his image. The Intex Inflatable Chair was acquired ‘Near Mint In Box’. The Applause Jumbo Plush arrived in a large box marked ‘ARIANA GRANDE NEW FRAGRANCE’.

‘Museum (DP)’ consists of over 100 collectible objects that were purchased online. The collected objects each represent either ‘Dialga’ or ‘Palkia’ - legendary 1/1 Pokémon from the franchise’s Generation 4 games ‘Pokémon: Diamond Version’ and ‘Pokémon: Pearl Version’ (initially released for the Nintendo DS).
Prior to obtaining these objects, each of the ‘Dialga’ and ‘Palkia' figures were owned by md11_er, a Pokémon collector based in the United States. md11_er recently became a pilot and - with what one can only assume to be an incredibly heavy heart - decided to sell part of their significant collection of Pokémon objects, in order to create both additional space and additional funds to support their growing collection of model aircraft.
